Zion’s Dream is a youth organization providing child wellness and development programs for bereaving and/or at-risk youth in the Greater Grand Rapids area. A 9 year-old honors student, Zion Belcher-Arill, founded Zion’s Dream after losing her Sister, Grandma, Grandpa, Great Grandma, Great Grandpa and uncle within an 18-month period. It was difficult for her to cope with those losses and there weren’t many options for assistance. Zion’s Dream's goal is to strengthen local grieving youth emotionally, physically and mentally. Our aim is to teach the youth how to cope with bereavement, enhance their intellect, strengthen their family bond, live a healthy lifestyle and reassert a sense of hope in the future by guiding the youth to their purpose. Only through personal relationships can a sense of individual responsibility be reestablished that will give youth the commitment to follow through on a path to adulthood with a sense of pride and accomplishment. Zion’s Dream will form partnerships with local school districts, businesses and faith-based organizations. After attending the Black Girls Rock TV awards show, Zion learned that she wasn’t too young to make an impact on her community. Zion aspires to become a minister and this is her community outreach.
Community Service: Zion's Dream has now partnered with Diverse Wellness Inc and Eastern Ave Christian Reform church to help provide quality food for the community on Saturdays from 8am to 10am at the Eastern Ave Christian Reform church. All income levels are welcome to receive food. Please share

Calendars can fill up so fast during a single week. Be careful not to allow lots of good things to take precedence over the most important thing — our families. Carve out quality time for each other. You can do this by designating a certain night each week as "family night," giving each child their own date night once a month, making dinnertime more of a priority — not a last minute thought, or simply by getting family members involved in projects around the house. It doesn't really matter what you do but that you are consistent with your efforts in showing the people in your life that they are what matter most.
Zion's Dream has created opportunities for families to create lifelong memories such as the Mommy & Me Balls, Daddy Daughter Dance, Mommy & Me Yoga and Kids Costume Ball.
